Course Overview

FLOW L.E.A.P is a transformative 10-week program designed to equip students in Year 6 with the social-emotional skills and mindset necessary to navigate the transition into high school and beyond. Through interactive activities, engaging discussions, and practical exercises, students will explore topics such as self-awareness, growth mindset, core values, goal setting, and effective communication. The course emphasizes the importance of personal growth, self-reflection, and resilience while fostering a supportive and collaborative learning environment.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of the FLOW L.E.A.P program, students will be able to:

  1. Understand the concept of self-awareness and identify their strengths, weaknesses, and core values.
  2. Develop a growth mindset, recognizing the power of perseverance and adaptability in overcoming challenges.
  3. Effectively set, prioritize, and work towards personal goals using SMART criteria.
  4. Identify and manage the social-emotional challenges of transitioning into high school, including peer pressure, sense of belonging, and adapting to new environments.
  5. Communicate confidently and empathetically with peers, teachers, and family members.
  6. Apply the skills and strategies learned in the program to make informed decisions, build positive relationships, and cultivate a strong sense of self.

By the end of the FLOW L.E.A.P program, students will be well-equipped to handle the challenges they face during the critical transition period into high school and empowered to take charge of their personal growth journey.

Course Overview

The Resilience and Coping Skills Course is a comprehensive 10-week program crafted to introduce the concept of resilience to the children. cultivate resilience and effective coping mechanisms in children. A common complaint about the new generation is their inability to cope with issues and raising children in a system like that without equipping them with the right tool to fight it would only lead to catastrophe. 

In a bid to provide children with better opportunities than they had, many parents have shielded their children from any opportunity to develop coping skills for life’s challenges and they cower at the mere instance of trouble in their life’s journey.  

This curriculum has been developed to equip children with the right coping strategies to face life’s challenges and turn every challenge into an opportunity for growth and development. They will be taught the concept of resilience and coping strategies and how they can apply these skills in their everyday lives; they will also learn the ways of strengthening these skills to help them build emotional strength and a robust mental capacity.

FLOW Club: Values and Goals is a comprehensive 10-week program designed for students in Years 3-6, building on the foundation laid in the previous term. This course delves deeper into the exploration of personal values, goal setting, and the practical steps necessary to align actions with one’s core principles. Through interactive activities, engaging discussions, and introspective exercises, students will gain a clearer understanding of their values, identify and set meaningful goals, and develop actionable plans to achieve them. The course emphasizes the importance of self-reflection, resilience, and adaptability in the face of challenges while maintaining a supportive and collaborative learning environment.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of the FLOW Club: Values and Goals program, students will be able to:

  • Understand the concept of personal values and identify their own core values that guide their actions and decisions.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of their aspirations and desires, and how they relate to their core values.
  • Set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals that align with their personal values and aspirations.
  • Create actionable plans to achieve their goals, taking into consideration the potential helps and hurdles they may encounter.
  • Develop resilience and adaptability in overcoming obstacles and setbacks while working towards their goals.
  • Reflect on their progress and growth throughout the course, recognizing the importance of self-awareness and self-improvement in the pursuit of personal success.

By the end of the FLOW Club: Values and Goals program, students will have a clear understanding of their personal values and aspirations and be well-equipped with the necessary tools and strategies to set and achieve meaningful goals, fostering a strong foundation for personal growth and success.

Course Overview

The “Growth Mindset Course” is a 10-week program designed to introduce and instill the principles of a growth mindset in children. The curriculum combines engaging educational content, interactive activities, and reflective discussions to create an environment that nurtures resilience, creativity, and a lifelong love for learning. From understanding the power of “yet” to exploring the potential of the human brain, each week’s session delves into different aspects of the growth mindset.

Throughout the course, students will be exposed to a variety of learning materials and mediums, including videos, interactive papers, art projects, group discussions, and even a unique marshmallow challenge. The sessions aim to facilitate an in-depth understanding of growth versus fixed mindsets, the influence of personal control, and the immense capabilities of the human brain. Each class is designed to encourage students to challenge their preconceived notions, embrace mistakes as learning opportunities, and foster a positive outlook toward personal growth and development.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of the Growth Mindset Course, students will be able to:

  • Understanding the Growth Mindset: Students will develop a deep understanding of the growth mindset and how it contrasts with a fixed mindset. They will learn to identify characteristics and examples of each mindset in various contexts.
  • Applying the Growth Mindset: Students will learn to apply the principles of a growth mindset in real-life situations and understand the importance of embracing challenges, persevering in the face of setbacks, and viewing effort as a path to mastery.
  • Exploring the Human Brain: Students will gain a basic understanding of the human brain, its capacity for growth and change (neuroplasticity), and how this ties in with the growth mindset concept.
  • Developing Self-awareness: Students will reflect on their personal strengths, interests, and aspirations, recognize their potential for growth, and understand what they can and cannot control.
  • Encouraging Collaboration: Through group activities, students will develop their teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills, reinforcing the social aspects of a growth mindset.
  • Promoting Continuous Learning: Students will learn to appreciate the value of making mistakes, receiving feedback, and learning from their experiences, fostering an attitude of continuous learning beyond the classroom.
